“[Brad and I] work really hard at nurturing our family to make sure that everybody is alright and everyone stays connected,” Jolie told Women’s Weekly. “Maintaining a marriage and raising kids is hard work. You have to really make sure that your work doesn’t get in the way. That you don’t do something that is going to put too much strain on your family.”

The Unbroken director, who wed longtime partner back in August in France in a private ceremony, also opened up about their children, Vivienne and Knox, 6, Shiloh, 9, Zahara, 9, Pax, 11 and Maddox, 13.

“They’re six of the funniest people we have ever met in our lives. We love being home and we love being around them because they are just so entertaining,” she said.

Recently, rumors about trouble in paradise surfaced when photos of the couple apparently arguing while in Australia last month have been published.

But during an interview with NBC’s Today, the 39-year-old actress slammed these speculations when she talked about their relationship prior to their nuptials in an extremely moving way.

“It did change,” she said. “It was in just a feeling of that security and comfort that we always had, but recommitting after 10 years together. And we were fortunate enough to be in that unusual situation where we got married with our children, and they were a part of the ceremony and they wrote some of the vows.”

“So it was all of us agreeing to be together and to commit to this life together — not because we had to, not because anything was missing in our lives, but because we were absolutely sure. It was really lovely, it was a lovely day,” the Oscar-winning actress added.
